Case SUMMARY

Lee-Thomas v. Prince George’s County Public Schools

Our client works as a paraprofessional with the Prince George’s County Public Schools system. She suffers from a hearing impairment, chronic vertigo, and carpal tunnel syndrome. She requested reasonable accommodations for months but was consistently either denied or ignored. The Defendant filed a motion for summary judgment requesting that the court dismiss our client’s complaint without a trial, but we convinced the Judge to deny their motion by showing that the few accommodations that were granted were broken, ineffective, or otherwise unreasonable.
