Previously, Caroline served as a Staff Attorney with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where she drafted memoranda and opinions to assist in the disposition of matters involving criminal law, habeas corpus, immigration, civil rights, and employment discrimination.  She was selected for the court’s specialized jurisdictional unit, where she reviewed cases for appellate jurisdiction and prepared memoranda and opinions addressing complex jurisdictional issues.

Caroline’s background also included public interest and clinic experience focused on worker protections, disability rights, and immigration.  She clerked at Disability Rights California and Legal Aid at Work and served in the UC Davis Workers’ Rights Clinic and Immigration Law Clinic, where she advised clients on state and federal employment law and supported impact litigation efforts.

Caroline earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, graduating in the top five percent of her class.  Her honors included the Order of the Coif and multiple academic awards.  She earned her B.A., cum laude, in International Political Economy and Spanish from the University of Puget Sound.  She is admitted to practice in California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
