Our client was an Army & Air Force Exchange Service employee. After the agency issued him a letter of reprimand, he filed a grievance, which the agency denied. He retained our firm to file an appeal with the Hearing Examiner’s Office. On appeal, we argued that agency issued the reprimand to retaliate against our client for disclosing his employer’s unlawful conduct. The Hearing Examiner rescinded the letter of reprimand and removed it from our client’s personnel file. The rescission of the letter allowed our client to seek additional promotional opportunities without hindrance.
