Our client is an Army & Air Force Exchange Service employee. After the agency issued him a Letter of Reprimand, he unsuccessfully filed a grievance. We appealed the grievance decision to the Hearing Examiner’s Office, and argued that the reprimand constituted retaliation for disclosing violations of law. The Hearing Examiner rescinded the letter of reprimand and removed it from our client’s personnel file. The rescission of the letter allowed our client to seek additional promotional opportunities without hindrance.
