OIG Investigation Attorneys

Washington, D.C., OIG Investigation Attorneys

Protecting Your Rights As A Federal Employee

While some audits and reviews by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) are routine, others focus on specific allegations of nonperformance of job responsibilities, fraud and other violations of the law.

If you have been notified that an OIG investigation is underway, or you have received a notice that you are to be interviewed, you should speak with an experienced federal employment law attorney as soon as possible.

At Alan Lescht and Associates, P.C., we have represented numerous federal employees in OIG interviews and disciplinary proceedings. We understand how OIG investigations are conducted and how to respond in ways that satisfy the Office of the Inspector General.

"For nearly 20 years, our firm has worked to protect the rights of government employees. Alan Lescht and Associates, P.C., will stand by you during this stressful time in your life."Alan Lescht

You Have The Right To An Attorney

If you are called into an OIG interview, you have the right to an attorney. This is advisable even if you have nothing to hide. Remember, an adverse report from OIG could result in discipline, a referral to the Department of Justice or even criminal prosecution.

An attorney at our firm can review your case and counsel you how to respond. The attorney can also accompany you to the interview and advise you during the interview. If OIG issues an adverse report, and your agency proposes discipline, we can oppose the proposed discipline and if needed, represent you in an appeal to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB).

The Whistleblower Protection Act provides federal employees with protection from retaliation. Alan Lescht and Associates, P.C., will use that law and others to protect your rights to the fullest degree.
