Clients describe Susan Kruger as “patient,” “encouraging” and “extremely knowledgeable” about employment and discrimination law.

Susan has been practicing labor and employment law and civil litigation for over 30 years. She advises and represents employees in all areas of employment law, including sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, non-compete agreements, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Her practice involves litigation in the state and federal courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. She also has extensive experience representing federal government employees throughout the administrative processes of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.

Susan enjoys finding creative solutions to difficult cases. She is most proud of her successful appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in Al-Saffy v. Vilsack, 827 F.3d 85 (D.C. Cir. 2016), where she convinced the D.C. Circuit to overturn a lower court decision dismissing her client’s discrimination case against the Department of Agriculture. Susan’s hard work paved the way for a more nearly $400,000 settlement for the client.

Prior to joining Alan Lescht and Associates, PC 12 years ago, Susan worked in-house at two corporations and served as Assistant Fairfax County Attorney, where she defended the county and county employees in civil litigation matters.

Susan is extremely knowledgeable with the administrative processes of the EEOC and is currently representing me in two cases in which the Office of Federal Operations ruled in my favor. I could not have gone through all that I have without her.

The Firm was very supportive throughout the process, and the specific attorney assigned to my case [Susan Kruger] was very thorough, clear and concise in outlining how we would approach resolving my issue.

Alan Lescht and his Associate, Susan Kruger did an outstanding job of representing me during two EEO complaints I filed against my Agency. I have a disability and my Agency failed to follow regulations regarding the rights of disabled employees. This happened twice over a four year period. Both times, I was in danger of losing my job even though I received positive performance evaluations. I received a settlement from my Agency because of Alan and Susan's excellent representation on my behalf in 2014 as a result of my first complaint. Just eight months later, I found myself in the same situation with a different supervisor (but same Agency) and filed a second complaint. Again, choosing Alan's firm to represent me resulted in a second settlement in my favor by the Agency. Alan and Susan were so patient and encouraging during these extremely stressful years. It was a long process and they did their best to keep my costs low (they kept communications short and sweet, but made sure I got the information/advice I needed). I understood that they were doing that for my financial benefit. I really can't put into words how much I appreciate what Alan and Susan did for me. I would recommend his law firm to anyone in a heartbeat (and I have several times).
