Clients describe Susan Kruger as “patient,” “encouraging” and “extremely knowledgeable” about employment and discrimination law.
Susan (she/her) has been practicing labor and employment law and civil litigation for over 30 years. She advises and represents employees in all areas of employment law, including sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, non-compete agreements, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Her practice involves litigation in the state and federal courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. She also has extensive experience representing federal government employees throughout the administrative processes of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.
Susan enjoys finding creative solutions to difficult cases. She is most proud of her successful appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in Al-Saffy v. Vilsack, 827 F.3d 85 (D.C. Cir. 2016), where she convinced the D.C. Circuit to overturn a lower court decision dismissing her client’s discrimination case against the Department of Agriculture. Susan’s hard work paved the way for a nearly $400,000 settlement for the client.
Prior to joining Alan Lescht and Associates, PC 15 years ago, Susan worked in-house at two corporations and served as Assistant Fairfax County Attorney, where she defended the county and county employees in civil litigation matters.
