As a federal government worker, you have many rights that cannot be taken away from you by your federal agency employer. One of these rights includes due process, which means you cannot be demoted, denied a within grade increase, suspended or fired without just cause. The MSPB is a government agency that assigns administrative judges to make decisions on suspension and termination cases that are appealed to it by federal government employees . We will file your appeal to the MSPB, seek a settlement for your claim, and represent you in any hearings.
Your employer must propose any of the disciplinary actions it intends to take, including a reprimand, suspension or removal, prior to actually taking the step itself. This proposal will come to you in the form of a written letter. You generally are given 15 days to respond to the proposal.
